Orbit2D · browser game and Android app

The short version. Orbit2D has no accounts, no ads, no in-app purchases and no third-party SDKs. Your save game lives on your own device. The only information that ever reaches the developer is a message you deliberately type into the feedback form.

Your save game

The game stores your progress in your browser's local storage on your own device — your worlds, ranks, talents, log entries and settings. It is not uploaded anywhere, there is no account to sign into, and no copy of it exists on any server. Clearing your browser data, or uninstalling the Android app, deletes it permanently. In the Android app the save may be included in your device's own Google backup if you have that switched on; that backup belongs to you and your Google account, and the developer has no access to it.

The Android app collects nothing

The packaged Android app contains the whole game and plays entirely offline. It contains no analytics, no advertising identifier, no crash reporting SDK and no tracking of any kind. It requests one permission, internet access, and uses it for exactly one thing: sending a feedback message if you choose to write one. If you never touch the feedback form, the app never makes a network request.

The website uses Google Analytics

The browser version at orbit2d.co and the development log at log.orbit2d.co use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which parts of the game people reach — for example how many players finish the first objective. This records the usual web measurement data (a randomly generated visitor identifier, pages viewed, approximate location from your IP address, device and browser type) and in-game events such as "objective completed". It contains nothing you have typed and nothing that identifies you by name. If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal or you use a content blocker, this is simply not collected. Google's own handling of that data is described in the Google privacy policy. The Android app, again, has none of this.

The feedback form

If you use the feedback form on the title screen, what is sent is: the message you wrote, the category you picked, your email address only if you chose to enter one, and a small amount of technical context — the game version, your world, your rank, screen size and browser identification — so a bug report can be understood without a conversation. Your IP address is recorded briefly to stop the form being abused. Messages are stored on the orbit2d.co web host and emailed to the developer, who is the only person who reads them. They are used to fix and improve the game and for nothing else: never sold, never shared, never added to a mailing list. If you gave an email address you may get a reply, and nothing else.

If you buy the Deep Charter

The Deep Charter is an optional one-off supporter pack. Payment is handled entirely by Stripe, a payment processor: you are taken to a page hosted by Stripe, and no card detail ever reaches orbit2d.co or the game. Stripe is the data controller for your payment information and holds it under its own privacy policy.

What this site keeps is deliberately tiny: the unlock code that was issued, the date, the Stripe reference for the payment, the email address you paid with (so the code can be sent to you and re-sent if it goes missing), and a short one-way hash of the device that activated the code so the same purchase cannot be handed out endlessly. There is still no account and no password. The entitlement itself is stored in your own browser or app, which is why the Charter keeps working with no connection.

Your email address is used for the code and for nothing else — no mailing list, no marketing, never sold or shared. Ask using either contact route below and the purchase record will be reduced to the code alone, or removed entirely if you would rather have a refund.

Children

Orbit2D is suitable for all ages and is not directed at children under 13. It has no social features, no chat, no user profiles and no personalised advertising, because it has no advertising at all.

Deleting your data

Your save game: clear your browser data for orbit2d.co, or press Reset in the game, or uninstall the app. Feedback you have sent: ask for it to be deleted using either contact route below and it will be removed from the message store — no account or verification needed, because there is no account.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date. The game is in active development; the intent behind this policy — collect as little as possible — is not going to change.

Contact

Orbit2D is made by one developer, trading as orbited.co, in the United Kingdom. For privacy questions and deletion requests, use the feedback form on the game's title screen (pick Something else and leave your email address so a reply can reach you) — it goes straight to the developer's inbox. Google Play users can also use the developer contact email shown on the app's Play Store listing.
